Introduced for the first time this year, the Special Recognition Award at the Wales Care Awards celebrates anyone working in Health and Social Care who has done something exceptional or achieved something remarkable that contributes to the sector, but whose contribution does not fit within any other Wales Care Awards category.
The award recognises the many ways people can make a meaningful difference, whether by improving the lives of those receiving care and support, inspiring colleagues, introducing a new idea or going above and beyond to meet a challenge.
This new award provides an opportunity to shine a light on outstanding work and achievements that might otherwise go unrecognised, celebrating the dedication, compassion and commitment of people who help make Health and Social Care better for everyone.
